Celebrate your accomplishments
As most of you who have been following this blog for the past couple of months know, I completed my Masters a few weeks ago. I suspected that in a few weeks time, it would slowly start to sink in. My suspicions were correct. No. more. school. Time. Oh precious time! Time to create and to read and to do whatever I please. Time to do things that I would normally feel guilty doing because I always had a paper to write or an article to read or an exam to study for hanging over my head. Don't get me wrong, I think education is a wonderful thing. I was just ready to be done.
With all my new found time, I whipped up this summery tote using some Amy Butler fabric I had in my stash. I am giving this bag away to one random winner. To be entered for the drawing, please leave a comment by 10 pm EDT, Sunday August 5th. As this giveway is celebrating an accomplishment, feel free to write about an accomplishment in your life. Good luck!

whoo hoo!
ReplyDeleteisn't it great to be done and have some time to create! this has been a summer of learning for me... i over the past weekend i sewed up my first shirt... and now, i'm moving on to my first dress! i'm addicted, i think!
(i love the new granny square banner... perhaps, one day, i will learn how to crochet... !)
have fun lady!
Congrats on your masters! That is a huge accomplishment. I'm afraid I done have any large accomplishments to celebrate, but the little ones are pretty exciting to me -- such as getting on the treadmill everyday and walking 3 miles (for a non-exerciser like myself, that is an accomplishment), getting caught up scrapbooking months and months of photos, painting the exterior of my house with my husband, etc.
ReplyDeleteAnd a congrats to you on making the tote -- I have plans of many things to be sewn, but I have yet to move from the "dreaming" them up stage to the putting the "pedal to the medal" stage and actually starting them. :)
Congratulations on this accomplishment. You should be very proud.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog through Dianns and have had the best time enjoying my cup of coffee and reading your posts. That bag is GORGEOUS! I purchased an Amy Butler bag but it's too big to carry around all the time (more for craft events, etc.) but the one you made LOOKS like the perfect size. Gorgeous fabric. Beautiful sewing job ~ that's one thing I do not know how to do.
ReplyDeleteA recent accomplishment for me is I just finished a painting (orchids) and have about 9 more projects I have to finish in the next week for my paint class students.
Would you mind if I added a link to your blog?
Have a blessed day!
I love your new banner!! Very nice:):) One of my best accomplishments was becoming a mother:) For many years I didn't think I wanted children, and then one day we were both "ready"...our sweet daughter is a constant source of joy, happiness, frustration and love:):)
ReplyDeleteThe tote is beautiful!
yay for being done and congrats on your masters!! Maybe I should accomplish something and clean up my house!!
ReplyDeleteWow. You are an inspiration. Seriously. I am starting my second year of undergrad and you reaffirm the fact that I have something to look forward to and work toward (besides bragging rights that come with a masters). What did you get it in? Just appreciate this time and don't feel pressure to move forward aggressively so soon.
ReplyDeleteI feel particular fulfillment each and every time I finish a knitted object. You see, I'm one of those people who gets bored easily and never finishes anything. It's a bigger achievement to finish something because it lets me know I can.
congrats!! getting your masters is huge! that bag is gorgeous. is it your own pattern? i just finished knitting my first fall sweater of the season.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!
ReplyDeleteYou really stumped me with a request of an accomplishment. There has to be one that I have done recently, right? Well all I can think of is of calling the college I went to and getting the last matter resolved so I can get my diploma. The last time I attended was in 1999. Yeah, took me a while to do this but it is getting done!
I came to your blog from Diann's. Congratulations! What a wonderful accomplishment and one to be so very proud of! I adore this bag. You are crazy talented!! My accomplishment? Finally getting brave enough to open my little online store. It's not much, but it's loads of fun!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that you got your masters!
ReplyDeleteOne of my greatest accomplishments is being a mother to 7 wonderful children. Everyday I feel so blessed!
I've been enjoying your blog through bloglines for some time now.

ok, was just going through your archives and I couldn't pass up the chance to win such a great bag as that. Congratulations on your Master's!
ReplyDeleteHmm, accomplishments... Few and far between since having kids. My Bachelor's degree is probably too long ago to count, right? Probably my best accomplishment is teaching myself to do stuff like sew, knit and crochet in the past couple of years. That's brought me much peace.
I know I've said it before, but you're sentiments exactly mirror what I know my own will be when that sweet, sweet day of freedom comes along my way.
ReplyDeleteBut back to the topic of accomplishments. My professor handed back the brain-melting research paper that I worked half the summer on. Guess what? I got an A-! I'm still not sure an A- is worth all that brain-melting, but it sure felt good to see that "A."
