Top 1: Simplicity 3777

I know I said "top" and I'm showing a dress here. I love this pattern (see the first dress I ever made here) and am shortening it to make it a top. I'm using white shirting fabric.
Top 2: Amy Butler Lotus Cami (picture from Amy B's website)

Bottom 1: Mccalls 5431

Bottom 2: Simplicity 4036

Originally I wanted to make pants. However, I really need a khaki colored skirt. Plus, I only have enough khaki fabric in my stash to make a skirt.
Would you like to play along in this challenge too? The rules are simple: four pieces, each piece must match each other, you set your own finish date. If you'd like to join in, leave a comment saying you'd like to play too and include a link to your blog or flickr account. I'll create a list of all participants and post it later in the week.
I like the challenge idea. And I love the top that you made!
ReplyDeleteI love the challenge idea, although I'm a little nervous about sewing clothes. I'm still new to it, but I think that I might talk myself into joining your challenge. I also love your quilt, so you might inspire me to not only sew a wardrobe but a quilt as well!
ReplyDeleteYou will love doing this!!! I LOVE that skirt pattern! It is my GO TO a-line skirt!
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly what I need to get going on some clothes for myself. Please sign me up! Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm in too....and I'm thinking about doing a prize for one of the participants! I have a new Quilt It Kit from Denyse Schmidt that might be the grand prize:) What do you think?
ReplyDeleteOK, I am in. I have 4 items in mind that I want to make, too. It sounds like a great challenge!
ReplyDeleteOh, this sounds like a lot of fun! I could really use some new clothes and I´ve been thinking about trying a broomstick skirt, so maybe that with a pair of shorts and a couple of peasant blouses would be ideal for summer.
ReplyDeleteI thought that was a great idea too so I'm going to join in. I have half of my mini-wardrobe in mind right now, a dress and a pair of pants. I'll look through my patterns for what top to make and another skirt. This is going to be fun! www.lifeisexamined.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. If I were a more productive person I would try something like this. I can't wait to see the results!!
ReplyDeleteI would like to play along, perfect timing as I posted a mini-wardrobe storyboard a couple of days ago.
